Alireza Ameri, PhD
It was the first time I was attending Prof. Ameri’s class. I found him a teacher with a thoughtful approach to everything. When he encounters a problem he analyzes it carefully. Moreover, he is an articulate person. Also, he is open-minded. He is willing to listen to, think about or accept his student’s different opinions, with lots of new ideas in his own mind. In my view, Dr. Ameri is an inspiring teacher.
In addition, as he himself knows, he is good at improvisation. As an instance, he does not come to the class with a particular plan prepared in advance to follow step by step. This frightens me a little, but I should trust him.
The things I really like about him are that he does not mind calling the roll. He hates indifference. And, he does not belittle his students. Also, he knows himself responsible for his students' futures. It is very important to him to see his students successful in the future.
However, he is a little easily offended, or rather, sensitive to our mistakes. But, I think every teacher should have this trait.
I hope he will help many things in ELT to change by nurturing teachers like or better than himself provided he never gets disappointed and survives .
